Ice Dam Water Damage

Ice storms can wreak havoc for many reasons and for this customer an ice dam built up inside the roof when the gutter became filled with ice and the water had no where to go. Once the ice began to melt the water started dripping. Luckily for the homeowner the water leak happened directly over the toilet in the master bathroom.
Our team was called out on a Saturday and our production employee was able to get on the roof to assess the damage. Upon examination there was a nail pop that was sealed and a hole in the under hang where the ice dam built up.
The next step in the process was to remove the light/vent fan where the water was dripping from, remove damaged drywall ceiling and insulation so the drying process could begin.
The customer was able to get the room dried out within a few days and now the reconstruction process can begin.
