Pipe burst during winter storm

SERVPRO was called to a business in St. Matthews had a pipe burst because of the excess freezing temperatures.  The pipe was on the second floor and caused water to leak into the first floor and basement.  The ceiling and walls had to have drywall removed in order to start the drying out process. 

Tips to prevent frozen pipes:

• Run a slim stream of both hot and cold water in faucets.
• Open the cabinet doors.
• Rooms above garages are susceptible to freezing also. The bathrooms near those rooms should also have water running.
